Is his shot that elite?

I think I read something about it being outstanding.

Absolutely a rocket.

I have seen both of the Marlies home games this season.

Against the Ice Caps on Saturday he scored a couple of interesting goals. His third goal was an empty netter and he didn't even realize that the goalie had left the net until a couple seconds after he shot the puck. His first one was pretty decent. He walked through a team that was standing still at the blueline and scored.

The positives of his game are that he's got a blast of a shot and teams finally started to catch up on that after seeing him unload from the point multiple times. He's got decent handles with the puck. The negatives about his game are that he's not very fast and could get more physical.

I'd like to see what the teejmeister can do at the NHL level. I know he's got a laser bullet of a shot, and those AHL numbers are pretty filthy.

So he doesn't see the ice well:laugh:

You're going to use a faceoff specialist who once scored 4 goals in a game for the leafs in his 14-year NHL career (516 pts in 859 games) as an example of a player who couldn't translate to the NHL? I'd think that Johnnly Pohl would be a more apt comparison.

As for Brennan, he's improved every season in the AHL he's played. If he can become a Perrault level player that would be impressive. The real question is, what's wrong with the guy that he was dropped by Florida of all teams, especially given he's capable of playing on defense and the wing.

His "A" game didn't translate in the NHL. He had to adapt to a different role in the Pros, shutdown/FO specialist (who still had the ability to finish). Remember, Perrault had 3 dominant seasons in the A like this....

1991-92 St. John's Maple Leafs AHL 62 38 38 76
1992-93 St. John's Maple Leafs AHL 79 49 46 95
1993-94 St. John's Maple Leafs AHL 62 45 60 105

But never scored more than 55 points in a season while with the Leafs.
Maybe Florida had to make room for Scott Gomez..

Should we call him up ? We aren't playing really well defensively, he has lit up the AHL 2 hat tricks in the last 2 games with the marlies total of 7 goals 3 assists in 3 games

might be a good call up just to see what he can do

Hilarious.

We're playing poorly defensively so bring up the guy with great offensive stats!

Obviously Brennan's making the AHL his bend-over b****, simply having his way with whoever the opponent is, also just having fun and showing them who their daddy is. 10 points, 7 goals in 3 games is just filthy insane.

How can you deny this guy? Honestly, how can you do it? If we don't give him a shot it's like seeing a 67oz gold nugget in the stream and not picking it up because you can't fit it and your frying pan in your knapsack.

The Marlies PP right now is Liles feeding Brennen perfect little passes while he absolutely hammers it through time and space.

The forwards are an afterthought and function like a rugby scrum in front of the net.

I don't think this would translate to the NHL :) Unless you can see Kessel mucking in front of the net dodging laser beams.

I want to see Brennan play some wing down on the farm.

I think Brennan is a bit more than Liles feeding him perfect passes. Brennan has 12 points, Liles has 4.

Phanuef?
Franson?
Either of the Wonderkids?
