I am a bit shocked he got over 8 and 300k over 8.5 is an added factor

Not because of Hughes though but figured, with Bratt taking less and Meier's slow start, we could keep him down.

Ah well, first 300-800k Fitz has misplaced on an RFA IMO is minute so Im glad the deal is done
His QO factored in I think.

A little higher than I expected but this will look just fine when the cap goes up. As has been said, combined Bratt-Timo cap hits are in line with expectations, Tommy Fitz is unstoppable.
Truthfully they are slightly under. Mine at least.

It's like a 300k overpay.

For a top player, it's whatever. Timo had all the leverage to go to UFA if he wanted.

Scrounge up the pennies on some cheap RFAs.

With a 10m QO he had way more negotiating strength than Bratt.

He was also up for more money.

AFPAnalytics (The Athletic and others were using them) had him at 8 years/$8,647,352.78

Evolving Hockey had him at 8 years/$8,779,000

You know what time it is. Timo GIF Avatar party!

Congrats to Timo and Fitz for getting it done. We're pretty much set with the core right now.

I think this is interesting. There have been multiple times where Fitz said something like “we believe this is the right place for Timo,”kind of making it seem like Timo had to be sold a bit, even after coming over. Either way, he obviously believes that now too.

We are so f***ing set for the next 5-10 years. We are legitimate Stanley cup contenders for the next 5 and maybe the latter 5.

I don't think Timo had a point in the Rangers series but you can't convince me we don't win the series without him. He's more that his production says and his goal production is a 40 goal scorer. Well worth the price for the type of game he plays and how he fits into our lineup which needs size along with speed.

We don't even need to sign a goalie. We can literally trade for the best goalie with cap retention every trade deadline if we need to. There is zero reason to sign one for long-term money.

Totally fine with this. I was expecting around $8.5 M, but the extra $300K won’t hurt us.

Happy to have both Meier and Bratt here long term, and our core locked in for the next several seasons.
