Your HFNHL admin team has been hard at work trying to solve the latest financial crisis, as well as the solutions to other hot topics. As a result, these are the changes that will be occurring within the HFNHL next season (plan accordingly).

1. We are going to increase the revenue slider in the SIM to average. The average revenue level should sit at $52 million.

2. We will increase in SIM playoff revenue by 20%

3. We institute a salary cap floor of $40,000,000.

4. We will update the league minimum salaries (existing contracts grandfathered in) and maximum ELC to match present NHL values. Immediate increase of league minimum to $525,000 and ELC max to $925,000.

5. We will no longer allow CHL free agents to sign during the season. They will need to be signed in the offseason along with NCAA free agents. However, professional free agents will still be allowed to sign.

Also coming are changes to the structure of endorsements. They will likely remain, but the format of them will change. Stay tuned!

Hope this works.
Really happy about the slider choice.

One question though. How do we raise revenue 20% for the playoffs?

Looking forward to having a shot at making a profit and being able to retain players as they get better and more expensive.

So we can make 52mill a season but spend 64mill? So still 12mill net losses for cap spending teams that don't make the playoffs don't we already make like 50mill a year? Just curious cuz it seems off still I know teams should still lose money but just curious

Teams this year were on course to make around 46 million, in a range of about 3 million to either side (43-49) before playoffs. Now it will be 6 million per season higher - 52 million, and hopefully in the same range, 49-55. The average team making the playoffs had a payroll of 58.

So making the playoffs and winning a round in the playoffs will see cap teams start to break even. Going deep makes a profit. Having a cap team but missing the playoffs will mean a loss of at least 8 or 9 million. Acceptable risk. At the moment, some teams are losing 20 million in a season.

For poor teams who go below $50 you can start to save money, but not too much money because the new cap floor stops teams making $20 million in a season.

Before I retire this from the "Sticky" column, we should have an update to see how performance fared against these projections. I know there was an adjustment made mid-season, so perhaps some commentary from the powers-that-be with implications for next season?
