It’s starting to seem like the Pegulas had real interest in selling part or all of the team, but something changed along the way. Maybe their fracking business is doing better? Maybe they got a better than anticipated deal for the Bills stadium? But there was an awful lot of smoke for a while that seems to have calmed down considerably

Energy prices have basically doubled. Pegulas can't really cry poor. They can only cry they don't have cash, or the team as a legal entity is set up in such a way that they have to infuse it with cash when needed. While franchise valuation does mean something, it doesn't really help the P&L.

I wonder if they went through a valuation exercise and that is what triggered the rumors. They would have reason why they would not want to advertise something like that if they are using it for the purposes of credit.
