This whole situation reminds me of when Carlyle was fired by Toronto and they went on a complete death march with Peter Horachek.

The biggest difference being that the Panthers haven't been nearly as bad since the coaching change as the Leafs. They hung around in the playoff race up until a couple weeks ago.

I don't think Gallant was a great head coach, but firing him when he was fired was like fixing something that isn't broke.

Felt like a panic move.
