And yet, how is any of this his fault. I'm sick of people on this site ripping into rookies and young players. Just like the idiots that booed Andrew Macdonald. It's disgraceful, the guy Is a terrible hockey player, that doesn't mean he should get booed by his own fans. Hagg doesn't put himself on the ice, the idiot behind the bench does. Move your anger towards him.

Sort of like this?

He sealed off his man good so Couts could get the puck, who then iced it.

Reality is, he just plays way too much for his skill set. Not his fault, it's Haks. But we are also seeing how much Ghost covered up for HIM by being great at reading plays, being open for Hagg to make an easy pass to and then Ghost exit the zone. He doesn't have that in AMac.

We did better than I expected. I'm not really liking the break while they're hot. Not exactly the best team to come out swinging after rest.

Some good, some bad.

You could see the Flyers were tired, emotional game the day before, Buffalo had a day to rest, 3 bad penalties the first period (veterans using their sticks instead of their legs), started the 2nd period slow then ramped it up, hung in there in the third period when they looked tired and remained physical.

Hagg gets way too much criticism by the "know it alls." He played a pretty solid game, almost killed Leonard with a perfect slap shot from 15' where he timed it just as the pass arrived. He's being more aggressive in the O-zone and starting to get more aggressive with his outlet passes - which means as a rookie he'll make more mistakes. Won't back down from anyone.

Gudas had a bad game, got stripped, made some bad passes, iced the puck. He's regressed this season.

MacDonald, uh, this is the guy Sanheim should replace. Just not much left in the tank at this point.
Manning was very physical in the D-zone against a big team, especially the first period when the team was gliding.

Filppula has fallen off the cliff, Lehtera actually looked decent but I wouldn't count on that continuing.
Konecny has raised his game, especially mentally, twice in the 3rd period he could have carried it into the O-zone, but it was at the end of a shift, and he dumped it in and headed to the bench, kind of play he didn't make earlier in the year.
Ghost is also playing smarter at both ends, took one gamble and got away with it, leading to a goal, but that's fine, you want him to be aggressive but not stupid. Has become more responsible on the defensive end.

Voracek was mentally out of it the 1st period, then woke up. If only you could transplant Weal's hands to Raffl.
Patrick looked much better, when he's skating that line is pretty good.

Couts and Giroux are playing great, but they were earlier this year and the team didn't look nearly this good.

Ok folks how did we play? Any pleasant or unpleasant performances?

Overall: B

The usual suspects had poor games (AMac, Hagg, Filp)... more so Filp and AMac

Patrick's line was fantastic, particularly Weal.

Ghost was our best defenseman today, and yet he started having his icetime limited about halfway through the 3rd.

G-Couts-TK starting to really develop chemistry. Couts was solid all game long.
