It's Saturday and I'm away from home for work. If there was ever a good time for a late game this is it.

Ten years ago, I brought my stepdaughter Mary (then age 13) to the Caps game in Glendale when "this rookie guy #8" scored that ridiculous goal. Here's the account she created for her 8th-grade journal.

Well Tom, you and your step daughter witnessed hockey history. Lucky you! I love this account, funny and descriptive :)

Here's hoping this not-rookie-anymore guy #8 scores a ridiculous goal tonight for the pleasure of our eyes :yo:

Hey All, I never post on here but I've been trolling this message board for years now. I've been a die hard Caps since the early 80's back in the days of the Cap Center. I had a very low hockey IQ back then as did a lot of fans I suspect. Anyways, I just wanted to take a second and thank all of you for unknowingly teaching me the finer points of hockey, how to watch a game and notice what the casual fan misses and for letting me know it's not insane when I can't sleep well after a loss. Go Caps !!

Thats about as cool as it gets. What a fantastic family memory preserved in writing. You should get it laminated.

Welcome, and stop lurking and join the conversation. We could use some new opinions and you will learn even more asking questions on here as they come up. I know I did.

I'm very confused by the time designation...it should be EDT now but Phoenix doesn't observe daylight saving time...soooo ya

I know it's super personal but you need to tweet that journal entry at the Caps broadcast team and maybe OV himself. That is awesome.

Should be put into a time capsule for future generations.

So that means first line is Ovi-Kuz? Oh it's hat trick time.

I would think the lines would be the same as last night. OV and Kuzy are the 2 best offensive players on the team. Having them on the same line makes it easier for the Yotes to get their best D pairing on against them.

Guess Holtby saw enough shots they didn't want to play him. Probably a good idea, especially given that rescheduled Anaheim game throwing off everything right as the playoffs start.
