Bednar will not take the blame for this season. It's more likely he gets a Jack Adams nomination than him taking the blame.

If anyone does get blamed for this team failing in the playoffs, it will be MacFarland and his conservatism.

Don't let Compher's contract year fool you like it did MacFarland. Compher is a bottom six player in the NHL.

As I've said many times now... I preemptively feel bad for whoever signs Compher. He's gonna get a ~5.5m AAV for 5/6 years and that team is going to hate that contract a month into the season. If Compher ends up in a place like Arizona (and I think the odds are high that happens), he might be passable during the times where they suck.
