without our star goalie or back up, playing our 23 year old AHL starting goalie
Didn't Silovs start the season as the backup in the AHL ?

This was written in March 24th genius. This was the Oilers claim to fame also. Hey we got hot bro!

The Nashville Predators might be the hottest team in the NHL right now. The Predators haven't lost a game in regulation since Feb. 15 to the Dallas Stars, and the team has now notched a point in a franchise-best 18-straight games.

the oilaz lucked out playing an AHL team in the 1st round AND STILL needed the refs close out the kings.

They’ll lose to Edmonton.

But hey, it’s always a great look to brag about winning one playoff series. Just ask Toronto, that certainly will quiet all the doubters!
Who is bragging ? How is defending a 2nd round bound team against charges of being frauds and pretenders bragging ?

They barely beat the 7th seed? Do you want a pat on the back lol?
People like yourself spent the entire regular season calling the Canucks frauds. And you were wrong. That's all.

Meh, people will keep moving the goalposts unless we miraculously win the Cup. For me personally everything from here on out is gravy.
Yup same here.

Now it’s “oh they barely beat a crappy Nashville team”

It’s the same people who said Nashville would win this series because they were one of the best teams in the NHL in the second half of the season. Not to mention we lost our most important player in Demko and won the series with our 3rd string goalie and without our star centre contributing.

Great showing for this team making the playoffs, winning the division and now going into the second round no matter what happens from here on in.

The Canucks beat the Oilers 4-0
Let’s just book their ticket to the WCF then

What a silly thread

They beat a team that literally sold at the trade deadline, and still were essentially 1 or 2 bounces away from being eliminated right now

If they beat the Oilers, we can talk. Hell if they win a couple games against the Oilers that would go a long way quite frankly. Right now we're looking at an Oilers sweep, maybe 5 games.

Canucks PDO'ed the Predators in the first round.

Let's see if they keep it up.

hahaha, Canucks proved nothing in the 1st round. Those 12 'shots on goal' win games were just terrible hockey. I hate both the Canucks and Oilers, but Oilers sweep easily.

Without Demko. Love to see how your Avs would do without your best player.

And how did the Preds sell at the deadline? They were the hottest team going into the playoffs and added Zucker and Beauvillier.

The team is still a pretender, as will be evident in their 2nd round loss. Hate to break it to you but winning one series means nothing.

So to start the season they Can’t make the playoffs…….
Now making the playoffs
Now winning a round in the playoffs apparently off a couple lucky bounces?

Didn’t Nashville have twice as many PP’s in the whole series
While Vancouver losing their starting goalie and playing some guy in goal 99.9% of people on HFboards hasn’t even heard of before?

Damn make up your minds people

Quite possibly the most fraudulent thread since “Matthews is Generational Too.”

Or pretenders.

The Canucks skeptics last crutch was that they would lose in the first round. Well.... they didn't. So no matter what happens from here, they were simply wrong. And those that got arrogant about it, using language like frauds and pretenders should apologize.

Edit: I almost forgot, PDO!!

Canucks in 7. McDavid has an unfortunate and frankly quite unlucky injury sitting on a stick by mistake (ruptured rectum, out week-to-week), but Draisatl is galvanized by the anniversary of World War 2 being over. Canucks go down 3-0 to the dinks but Demko comes in, wins a game and promptly gets injured, and then Silovs comes back in and steals the series. Edmonton’s power grid also fails so they play the games in Calgary.

Read the thread. The Preds were the hottest team in the league going into the playoffs.

Winning the division means nothing. Now apparently getting out of the 1st round means nothing. The salt just never stops.

What was the Canucks PDO anyway ? Anyone got the number ?
