Monarchs have got a ton of speed and they worked us all game

Virtanen - thought he moved the puck well and was good off the rush. Certainly has the physical tools. Needs to be played more

Andersson - wore down a bit as game went on but his movement of the puck from his zone was excellent and good one on one defensively. Real good skater and seems to standing up to the hitting somewhat better

Markstrom - kept the Comets in the game. Tons of traffic in his crease.

Conacher - Best forward - creating chances

Acton - solid game

Did not like

Clendenning - looked sluggish and reduced to flipping puck out of his zone. Never seems to support the rush. Needs to move his feet.

Hamilton - have to change match ups. He couldn't handle the Mersch line. Provided zero offensive push

Shinkaruk - shoved out of the play. Makes the same outside side move all the time and doesn't have the speed or finesse to make it work. Looked in over his head and thrashing about.

DeFazio - did he play? Never in the play. Very plodding skater.

If Baertschi is out its huge for the Comets. PP looks screwed. Hope its nothing serious and would rather the injury be to his leg or such and not a head injury.

Guess Jensen is back in. Have little hope that will help.

Good analysis. The Monarchs were the best team in the AHL from start to finish and after watching them tonight I see why. Markstrom will need to steal a few games with Berube playing weak. Both of which are possible.

If the Comets are to win this series it will be Markstrom beating Berube. But Utica has to get more shots on net.
