Nearing face off time for game #1.

Bachman gets the nod tonight and Green makes no predictions as to who gets the nod tomorrow. Could be either guy and Green said the results tonight might not influence the decision tomorrow.

Hundreds of Comets fans made the short trek down the thruway and will be in attendance tonight. Comets tickets to the public went on sale this a.m. and could only be purchased in person. 550 tickets are all that is available based on the 3,300 STHs. More could exist if some STHs decided not to purchase tickets for the playoffs. Can't be many of them.

The forwards are mixing in and out and I'll adjust the lineup as it becomes clearer. The first 2 are correct. The other six are on the ice in all kinds of combos likely due to changes on the fly. I'll get it down if possible.

2nd opens with the Comets on the PP for 33 seconds and with 25 left Gaunce to the box for high sticking.

4 on 4 for 25 and the Albany on the PP for 1:35. Utica not good at 4 on 4.

PK successful, but here we go again with pressure after just like the last PK.

Subban give away and pulls down the guy who had the break. This is the bane of Subban on D.

If the Comets make this a game of special teams they will come out on the short end.

Yep. Score and it's 2-0. 2 Comets D-men have cost the Comets a 2-0 deficit.

People in Vancouver talking about the Vancouver defense being weak. It's the Comets problem as well. There is no depth in defense in the Vancouver franchise.

Stecher will help, but it's far too little.

Now Pedan commits another one tripping with his knee and he's done it again. His head has been screwed on ajar since the first time he went up to Vancouver. Good luck to his promotion to the NHL next season. Just another example of what I just said about Vancouver franchise defense depth.

Utica to the PP once again. They need to make these chances count. They are not the best team and have to take advantage of every opportunity and quit making bone head plays as well.

No shots by the Comets as of yet in the 2nd period with 7 minutes to go and that includes the duration of this PP. PP over.

Pedan has his head up his butt. He just avoided a third penalty as the refs decide to overlook another trip.

Move your feet big one, don't reach with the stick! Midget education should have taken care of that.

The Comets cannot play against this shutdown style of D played by the Devils. It's NJ in their prime all over again. They don't have the finesse to skate, stick handle, or pass through it. If they dump it, they don't have the speed or strength to retrieve against the bigger, stronger Devils' defense.

Not one shot by the Comets in the 2nd period! Never happened to the Comets in their history.

There is no way the Comets are actually this bad. Albany is better than them, but this is ridiculous. They have played them tough all season with the exception of a game just like this in the AUD. They need to get their heads out of their ***** and play as hard as they are capable of or they will be on the golf course by next week.

Albany can seat 6,000+ in their lower bowl, but it's only half full and hundreds of them are Comet's fans. They could put 17,000 into the building, but they don't have anywhere near that kind of fan base. They curtain off the top half of the building in order to put the crowd in closer quarters, but when it's still half full it's pretty sad for a playoff game in the state's capitol city.
