i made sure i picked up my guitar amp that was out for repair before i locked down…..some retired guy my friend knows fixed up some ground issues and cracking out sounds it was doing…….
.

..but ya, im giving the rig a nice run later in the evenings when booze has done its job……a terrific sound, an old traynor mark III tube with 2 12" speakers (has a nice built in tremolo) and a gibson LP with P90's…… 2 pedals, a classic Boss DS-1 (ya, ya…who doesnt own one) and a TC electronics delay (which i dont go too crazy on)

i usually run a simple setup
I don't play well at all when I got a buzz going. I lose my rhythm.

I don't smoke that much in general, and it's pretty hit or miss as to whether it helps in playing, sometimes, or maybe better put, eventually, I just want to fall asleep.

Though I've had some good sessions the morning after.

This site is horrible since they did whatever maintenance they had the other day. Seems like replies and posts take a while to post. Slows the site down a ton.

Love this thread -
I'm a two-whisky shot guy. A few more and I'll go all Jerry Garcia and spend an inordinate amount of time tuning.

Depends what I'm playing, though... More beer is necessary for 90s alternative rock than Steely Dan, for example.

I've finally got my recording setup all hooked up through my mixer and integrated with Presonus audiobox, so the kids are having fun. I'm both digging it and immensely frustrated.

My 1974 Mesa Boogie Mark II head is just sitting there since I had to get the cab out of the dining room... sadly.

My buddy just saw 7 bald eagles flying together above his house.

Is that normal?

Seeing a bald eagle around these parts is a bit of an event, 7 together is something else.

I don't have much by way of tech. I play an ovation acoustic, given to me by an uncle who has since passed, and if I go electric I play an epiphone jr on a small fender amp.

So Young Frankenstein is on this evening. Brilliant movie and a top top comedy in my book. Peter Boyle was fantastic as the creature. Fast forward a number of years and Boyle is playing Ray Romano’s dad on Everybody Loves RAYMOND. There is a Halloween episode. Peter Boyle is handing out candy to the neighborhood kids and is wearing a Frankenstein monster head piece. He doesn’t give us anything beyond that. To this day I hear a grudge against Ray Romano for whiffing on that opportunity. He has a comedy legend ready to tip his hat to an iconic role and he lets it pass. Few things in life piss me off more than this lack of acknowledgment.

i had 14 hawks circling overhead tonight around 6pm……just gliding and surveying…. a couple got 'uncomfortably close' above the top of the 50 footer tree line at the back……an eerie sight.

great thing is it was the first day i had my clucks in the chicken tractor moving around the yard….i need to tell one of my neighbours that theres going to be a bloodbath in his uncovered run soon (20' x 50' appx.) if he doesnt do anything. he has 13 birds

I dont think so, but where was that? I wonder if he lives near a food source or something. I've never seen more than 1 in "real life" at a time, and obviously 2 from nesting cams.

Is he sure they were bald eagles? They typically do not flock together. I've only ever seen them solo.

I guess it's possible they could've been at a food source, but 7 is highly unlikely

It's a residential area but we are along the bay and there is some marshy cat tail area as well as some woodsy area near by.

At first, when they were at a bit of a distance, he thought they were vultures, given they are very common around here and are often in such packs, but he noticed the wing angles weren't right, then a couple came close and sure enough white head, white tail.

He knows his birds way better then anyone else I know, but Bald Eagle's are a pretty easy one to notice.

I think I've mentioned this before, but my girlfriend is a photographer and has done a lot of work with sex workers of various stripes. She became good friends with a few of them. One of them, a pornstar, just asked her to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.

So I'm going to be going to a pornstar's wedding eventually.

This morning @3:22 AM, the Montreal area got hit with an earthquake - magnitude of 3.1

Sounded like an explosion when it started then it started to shake, lasted for about 3 seconds.

On march 6th, we also had an earthquake at the exact same time. Creepy, I know.

Weird. I presume the area's not prone to them.

There was also one near Salt Lake a few weeks ago that got glossed over because of virus news. Maybe it's a sign of the end of the world :(

Someday I feel we're going to learn Billie Eilish's career is a marketing scam, and her record company's buying all these downloads in a circular cash funnel.

Basically an accounting version of Milli Vannilli.

Billie Eilish is an interesting hybrid story. The truth is somewhere in between. She and her brother are the real deal as far as writing and producing her songs in their bedroom. Self-starters. But they are also a family of creatives - both parents are veterans in the entertainment industry - so they had many in-roads into the marketing / PR apparatus of the LA label scene. Professionals mixed and mastered the record, professionals promoted her. She's white, easy on the eyes but has a distinct personality - a layup for a marketing team.

Most of you aren't the target audience but if you even have the capacity to put yourself into the headspace of her target audience, you may understand what her appeal is. She's fun and goofy but also dark and moody, a bit unkempt. Her image feeds into the current feminist zeitgeist of feigned indifference as self-empowerment. Her music, relative to the bombast of most pop productions, has a lot of space and an almost skeletal quality to it - it's its own thing. I'm not a fan, but as someone in the industry, I appreciate the contrast she represents - to her audience.

If you're over the age of 30, there is no point in complaining about music culture. As it has been since before music was created. Music always moves past you, no matter what your age is.
