Do you think it will differ from the Hart Trophy winner this year? I think McDavid is well above any player in the league and I am guessing that the players recognize that themselves. McDavid isn't getting the Hart but who do you think will win the Lindsay this year?

Ovechkin is still great but he isn't remotely close to his peak of 10 years ago. McDavid might not be 2008 Ovechkin but he is definitely a notch above today.

Depends on Kucherovs health and/or if McDavid can catch him in the scoring race.

I think it will be between those 2

Kucherov probably could have played today but they kept him out. He traveled for a one game road trip and skated this morning.

Kucherov is the front runner, IMO. Malkin, McDavid, Mackinnon all in the mix.

That's what I am wondering.
Probably can't win a Hart with no playoffs, unless you have a statistically ridiculous season.
I wonder though if players feel differently and just recognize who the best player in the league is and aren't swayed by conventions.

well looking at the past winners, it doesnt seem that any non playoff guy has won it but that doesnt mean he cant, it will just be unlikely

If McDavid wins the Ross, you’d have to think he’s in the running.

No playoffs means no trophy, unless if McDavid was like way ahead of the pack (at least like 20pts).

Kucherov will probably win this if he comes back in the next game or 2. Malkin, Ovechkin, MacK all have a good shot.

Ovechkin has 0 shot at the Lindsay lmao. I can name several players better this season.

Kucherov
Malkin
McDavid
Mackinnion
Kessel

Etc

Hart I can agree on without the team success he’s not in the running.

Lindsay is a different story.

When was the last time the Richard winner wasn't at least a Lindsay candidate? If Ovi wins the Richard, he obviously has a shot.

I think this is a type of award where a player has significantly better changes to win if his name is already carved on it.

For real merits or for the name.

I don't get it how Ovi would be out of this race.

So twice? Not exactly convincing, especially because Ovi is pacing for a lot more points than he had in those 2 years.

Crosby was 2nd last year, Ovi was 2nd in 2014-2015, Ovechkin won in 2013, Stamkos was 2nd in 2011-2012, Perry was 2nd in 2010-2011, Crosby was 3rd in 2009-2010...the list goes on.

^ please explain ovechkins case for the Lindsay over kucherov, malkin, McDavid and mackinnion?

well lets see. ovechkin is likely to win the rocket richard, he is just outside the top 4 in points, if you look at the caps stats only one forward on the caps team is within 24 points or 20 goals of ovie

lets turn to pitt, great team, lots of good players put crosby, malkin and kessel are all 70 points plus, if thats not obvious then idk
