Uhhh is anyone even reading the OP? Huge reading comprehension fail. When the hell would Cale Makar be a scarier defenceman than Scott Stevens?
Has he ever even injured anyone/taking someone's head off?
Forwards won't have the fear of god in them when Makar is lining them up.
Maybe Chara and Gudas?

They'll have the fear of god defending Makar's edges in their own defensive zone. Different intimidation.
I love how nobody knows what the hell is going on with this thread because the OP hid his question in the poll. 
Pronger would have to be on the pairing as he can be a predator and beat you with his skillset too.
Maybe add Gudas to play with him?
Stevens is in the mix to be sure but the system where the clutch and grab could impede scoring chances while Stevens teed guys up worked to his advantage.
Andre Moose Dupont might count if we include lumberjacks but since it's only hockey players....

Chara and Gudas or Pronger sounds a bit scary. However, Stevens and Konstantinov were two of the meanest guys I've ever seen on ice.
They'd be my first d-men pairing. Orr and Fetisov would be 2nd.

Stevens wouldn't be very good in the modern era. His type of hockey is long dead and he would be permanently suspended if he tried to play his game. Pronger would be much scarier as his game would still be viable today

Absolutely, Stevens had skill as well which people forget. He wasn’t some goon who couldn’t contribute in other areas.
He would easily be a top 5 D man in the NHL. He would have to change some of his hitting style though.
Prime Stevens was an elite two way D man.
