Zemgus is a grinder who we knew could fill a higher line role since he was our 1c. Anything long term would be a catastrophe, but if he can keep getting points maybe he can get his own line going when Olofsson comes back. The heart has always been there, it's just not who he is ever going to be.

It’s not rocket science. A banger keeps the D looking over their shoulder when they go to retrieve pucks. Keeps them honest and makes them rush plays/make mistakes. They also eliminate defensive players from the play, allowing forwards to pick up loose pucks and capitalize on the temporary extra time and space.

I feel like this combination may work much better with the selfish 2019-2020 Jack rather than the pass-everything Jack of old. ZG doesn’t have the chops to play that game with him. But he can make it easier for Eichel, Reinhart, and Dahlin to do their thing around him.

Like Hainsey with Matthew's, or Kassian with McDavid, if you can have a guy that is good on the boards battle it out in the corners you open up your skill guys to make plays. Maybe they keep him on the line when Olofsson comes back, let him and Larsson take turns with the grunt work while Eichel and Olofsson work to get open.

It also has the added benefit that when Eichel and Olofsson are on the ice, no one is paying any attention to Girgensons.

Still think they've been largely ineffective. Outside of Vesey's goal that line was really bad imo.

It seemed like the Stars did a good job of forcing Jack into uncomfortable areas again. When they were cycling, taking what was there, the movement was good and obviously resulted in the Vesey goal. When it wasn't... Jack was getting stripped near the offensive blueline and that was dangerous for the Stars more than once.

LOG was reunited to end the game. It will probably continue to be roulette on Jack's wing for now.
