I'm curious what the 10pm replay does on TNT, because it wouldn't shock me, knowing that it was on, if people wait to watch it.

I was never a huge believer that sports besides football has such a major influence over these ratings
This is me. I tape NXT at 8 and AEW at 10 then watch both back to back when i have time.

I thought the same thing. Count both.

The championship match was bound to decline. People know Moxley, Pac and Omega in the semi-main event.

To the casual observer, the main event was Jericho vs. some guy. They need to stay the course and build the guys who aren't well known on the national stage at this point.

I think there’s more of an appetite for wrestling than there is MMA but they’re both extremely cyclical and neither are filled with big stars to hook people at the moment, but the new kid on the block (AEW) is intriguing to them.

Just a couple things:

1) I think NXT/AEW were originally thinking 500k-1m, so IMO these are solid figures right? I would assume networks and teams are happy.

2) Shame on anyone who complains about WWE and still watches Raw/SD when AEW/NXT are pretty fn awesome each week.

3) I think WWE should keep NXT off the network for at least a week. That will bump viewers. I have no reason to tune in when I can just catch it next day. It's an on-demand world.

Holy shit at that Smackdown number. They’re already just a tad above what they were doing on USA Network. There’s no way Fox is pleased.

AEW was around 400k initial expectations when the deal came to fruition.

THEY’RE ALSO BELOW 1.0 IN THE 18-49 DEMO LOL

did the full details of the AEW and TNT deal come out?

TNT probably paid like, a small fraction of the price, and AEW is already doing 70% of RAW & SD in the key demo, and more than doubling the original expectations for average viewership.

FOX paid 5 billion for SmackDown LMAO

It was something a while ago. Something about TNT picking up production costs but getting a nice split from advertising or something like that, I’m not totally sure.

I think @GKJ or @Kimi may be able to have a more accurate take on it.

I think you’re right. It was a smaller trial deal IIRC.

I assume maybe a year? So AEW should be able to get a nice deal if this keeps up into next summer

I still amazes me NXT doesn’t seem to pull as much from the RAW or SD audience

From what we know of the deal, you are correct. TNT are paying for the production (which is probably going to be in the $20~30m per year range) and they are splitting the ad revenue with AEW. There's no fee being paid to AEW like WWE get for their shows.

NXT is for the hardcore base. I have a hard time believing there are only 700k-800k hardcore fans, though. People are clearly choosing to watch AEW first knowing NXT is on the network 24 hours later.
