These guys were great , sadly the singer is bipolar which lead to break up of a truly great band.
If I may,
There was Motown.
There was Stax/Volt, which featured artists like Booker T and The MGs.
Then there was Muscle Shoals, which eventually produced two power house recording venues.
I appreciate Motown, having been born in Detroit, and Stax, too.
But Muscle Shoals is something else. That is dirt under the fingernails soul.
And half the house band, the "Swampers," were white.
Amazing stuff, captured well in the documentary. Rick Hall, the founder of FAME studios, was an indelible, tragic story himself.
Check if you will.
"New Creed," who have been around for 16 years and have released 6 studio albums are, imo, even better.
My Own Prison (the song and album) are really good, no doubt. I just think Tremonti's progression as a guitarist and the addition of Kennedy took the band to another level. U.S. record sales, however, disagree with me.Alterbridge is really good live.
that first creed cd though was killer.
Eric Clapton is my favorite male rocker:
My favorite version of this classic :
My favorite version of another classic:
Danny Whitten was the guitar player in Crazy Horse and sang vocals with Neil on this album. He was also who the song The Needle and the Damage Done was about. This song was written by Danny and appeared on Crazy Horse's 1971 album. Rod Stewart would have a hit with it. Neil had invited Danny to play on Harvest, but he was in poor shape. Neil had to let him go, and he died that night from mixing too many pills and alcohol.
Not a fan ...
The Cars' Drive was posted earlier. I'm interested to hear what others think of this cover by Deftones.
Always rerun the end of Les Miserables so I can sob and ugly cry twice......
