Talented WRs are a dime a dozen. Eleven picked so far. That is not far from the usual.

For whatever reason talented centers are not as valued but much rarer.

Khan-Weidle made the right call.

They can make a trade for a WR, use a couple of later picks on boom or bust options, or both.

You grab the harder to get first round quality talent. Especially when you invested first round picks in extremely physically gifted bookend tackles the previous two drafts. The three can grow together and play together for a decade plus.

For where this team was when Khan took over, couldn't be happier with the last two drafts. Steelers aren't a contender, yet, but they are certainly laying a foundation. If the o-line is really set for the next 5+ years (atleast) they can really start to focus on skill positions later.

The thing with an offensive line is that they have to work as a unit. The heart of a line is the center and tackles. They just drafted three of the best athletes in those positions who are all about the same age.

Can you think of a better way to build a world class line for a decade plus?
Lets hope they all pan out/stay healthy. Broderick needs to make that year 2 leap.

Another obvious benefit that should go without saying: the fact that the Steelers have their LT, C and RT all on rookie deals for the next 3+ years (will be 4 years if they take Jones' 5th year option) should make it clear how they can be aggressive and spend more on skill positions like WR going forward.

If they do that..no sign of that forthcoming
