Is Kurt Angle back?
I just love to hate the guy.

I was talking with someone...
And by the third sentence...
I am discussing the weather.

At that moment...
I realize how boring we Canadians are...
Because we talk about the weather every other sentence.

Weather is basically our conversation Hail Mary.

To be fair, the weather has been pretty extreme as of late.

Talking to a Californian about rain never ends well.

Here...
It had been pretty sunny and hot...
With about a day of rain.

We just had nothing in common...
And that was the last resort.
It is a bit sad...
Because she was my aunt.
:shakehead

Oh well.
It happens from time to time.
Luckily I have other relatives to talk to.
If that fails...
There are 23 million other people here...
And 7 billion other people on earth.
I think I will be fine.
;)

Islanders fan, coming in peace. I'm making plans to come up to Vancouver for the first time, and to catch a Nucks game while I am in town. Was wondering if you had any recommendations of hotels to stay at that would be particularly convenient to get to Rogers Arena from, as well as have easy access to going out an experiencing Vancouver's nightlife and whatnot. Cheaper is better, but it doesn't have to be dirt cheap. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Hmm well theres a bunch of hotels around the area. Most are pretty affordable (Best Western, Delta, that kind of thing). Nightlife is down in that area too. For a sportsbar type of feel, I suggest The Pint. Great place to watch hockey. Heres a list of the nightlife.

Anything in downtown Vancouver is fine for easy access to Rogers Arena.

I'd try hostelworld.com for cheap and user-reviewed hostels (worked well for me in south-east Asia).
