All things considered, my vote is for the Habs 1944-47 whites when they had the blue stripe across the chest.
My reasons:
- the most historic (and arguably most recognizable) logo and team in NHL history
- the most successful franchise in NHL history
- use of the most common and, IMO, most aesthetically pleasing, colour combination of red, blue and white
- an old school clean look with a hint of the really early days of simple white uniforms with a crest or stripe
