Isles offer Strome + Kulemin or some other expiring contract to make it fit.

Let the bidding commence with an opening price of a late 1st round pick!

Joking aside, I wonder what Shero will manage to get.

Must be something sketchy going on in the KHL if shortly after NHL announces they won't compete in the Olympics yet all these big name Russians are smoke bombing it over anyway

I'm not a kovy fan at all despite his talent so I could care less where he ends up. Hopefully in Vegas though I suppose

If Anaheim wins game 7 vs Edmonton, what would Dallas need to add to the Ducks first round pick to get Kovalchuk?

What's Edmonton's cap situation like? You'd have to think that's a great spot for Kovalchuk to go.

I'm interested to see the return the Devils get out of this. I'm also excited to see Kovy play hockey again. He was always one of my favorites.

Drai and McDavid are about ready to cash in. Not claiming to be an expert on their cap situation but those two are going to be taking up 16-17 million between them so it would really depend on how much Kovy wants.

I personally don't think NJ gets a lot of Kovalchuk. But some sort of asset is better than nothing especially with NJ rebuilding (retooling?) with the 1st pick this year.

Wait didn't Kovalchuk say he was only interested in playing for a couple of teams?
Hardly a sweepstakes if true.

LeBrun mentioned NYR and SJS as possible destinations Kovalchuk's agent would look into. He said he'd be looking at any contender or big market place.

I think they'll get a 2nd and/or a solid prospect. Possibly a low 1st round pick.

No shot he goes to the Rangers. We've never made a trade with them and I doubt Shero is going to break that trend.
