Carry on over here.
Wanted to save Bonks hard work :D

Short version as it stands right now:
Islanders magic number = 1
Red Wings magic number = 2
Penguins magic number = 3
Bruins magic number = 4 (require 1 ROW)

Isles face Pens, then Blue Jackets
Red Wings face Habs, then Canes
Pens face Isles, then Slugs
Bruins face Caps, Lightning, Cats

We have the Rangers, then the Flyers.

I expect the Rangers to come at the Sens hard and try to knock them out of the playoff race. It seems to reason that it would be in their best interest to avoid facing a red-hot frenzied Ottawa club with 'Hamburgler' magic in a seven-game series and instead, feast on the pickings of the team that staggers through the wildcard 'gate'.

The Senators need to get the lead early, keep it and take control of the game. They cannot keep playing 'catch-up' as their is no margin for error.

The way the Islanders lost to the Flyers must have been crushing to their confidence. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Islanders lose out.

I am hoping the Rangers come out flat - hungover from securing the Presidents Cup and not having anything left to play for.

Bonk's gonna have to add Pittsburgh and NYI to that chart. What was that graphic last night... we've gained 15 (?) points in Pittsburgh since March 1. Something like that. Insane!

If it has to by the NYR at home, better the first game after they clinched the #1 overall and the Pres. Trophy. If there is a mental relaxation, it will be for this game.

Sens are also riding a 7 game winning streak at MSG in the regular season , they seem to play well there.

That late goal against Halak last night might be a blessing in disguise by the hockey gods for the Sens. Now the Isles have not clinched and all of a sudden, the game against Pittsburgh Friday becomes very important to them, as the Pens could catch NYI with a win. The Isles will be hungry and motivated after losing on a fluke goal and will step their game up to beat a free falling Pens team to secure their playoffs spot.

How do Rangers approach the game on Thursday I wonder? They've already clinched the president's trophy, so they really only play because they have to. Do they sit some players that they need in the playoffs or do they go all out for the win?

Doesn't matter really, Ottawa has to play their best game on Thursday and an even better game on Saturday, that's all they can do really. It's been fun getting up in the middle of the night to see this drama unfold.

Play to best of ability, BUT nothing you certainly don't shorten the bench and push guys into a fatigue zone. No risk to the bodies for the playoffs.

It's crazy that usually 92 pts is what you need for the playoffs and this year both conferences it looks like will need 98-99 pts

Good news. Holtby has been confirmed starter for caps tonight but they added a few rookies into the lineup tonight, including one making nhl debut
