I thought Franson was okay in Nashville, but he really hasn't looked good in Toronto. Maybe he was being sheltered in Nashville. Maybe I only saw him play a few times and he played well in those games.

Either way, I don't want him on the Canadiens.

I'd rather have Gilbert than Franson. Now we have Gilbert AND a buffalo second which equates to a high first. Maybe draft another Pacioretty ;-)

SOOO glad that we got the Pick instead.

We would have gotten Franson instead of Gilbert + 2nd.

Glad the trade didn't happen then.

Franson isn't as bad as some people say, but he's definitely not good either.

...I was a Franson fan...wanted us to make an offer last year for him to put on our 3rd pairing/2nd PP...then I watched him completely bag last year...thank the Hockey Gods Josh blocked that one last shot for us...

Gilbert + 2nd + cap space >>> Franson. Gardiner would have been a more interesting option imho

ACTUALLY IT WAS for 2 PLAYERS AND A PICK..but glad Josh spurred the Leafs.....we can use his 2nd on someone else in a trade etc...we got Gilbert and a 2nd for Josh....saved cap which might come on handy for another new player etc.

It was said somewhere, whether fabrication or not, that it was Gardiner and Gauthier for Gorges and a pick. But again, fabrication? wishful thinking? you pick.

All I saw was Bob McKenzie saying the player was Franson coming back from the Leafs for Gorges.

Well Bergevin and company must of thought he would fit in well........so I am a little worried cause I haven't heard anything positive about Franson at all......what does this mean?

Make no mistake, the LEAFS have been one of the worst teams in the league since Franson came on board, I personally think Franson is way better than Gorges, I never liked Gorges, too much RAH, RAH, RAH and over rated like crazy!!! He was basically a through in, in the Rivet deal.

I agree with this. Not sure the Leafs would've traded Gardiner for Gorges though. And while Franson is a good asset on a PP, he's actually horrible defensively.

I believe we dodged a bullet if this is true.

I compare stats and you really got to like what Franson brings.....79gms 33pts 282hits and a lousy -20. He also had 6pts in 7 playoff games....not too shabby.

I'm angry that if it weren't for Gorges saving us from making a mistake, we wood of had a worse summer.
