We've had lots of polls with respect to the best players in Canucks' history, so I thought it would be a fun exercise (famous last words) to see who HF Van thinks the best off-ice Canucks' Masterminds in history are - I figure we can run through this with GMs, and then do one for Coaches as well.

The list of Canucks' general managers that we've had is below, clipped from Wikipedia. Like Wikipedia, I'm including Mike Keenan as an option as he was the de facto/acting GM for an extended period of time.

Disagreement and debate are healthy and encouraged. Just keep it clean, civil and respectful.

The List:

will never understand the love in some have for Gillis. Nonis and Burke left him with a solid base and lots of cap room

Then you’re willfully ignorant. 1000s of posts, entire recent threads, all dedicated to explaining why people consider him the best Canucks GM.
If anything, this constant refrain should be admonition to the team for having fired Nonis or not renewed Burke in the first place. And yet, it never is...

Poile is the last person on the list who could be argued to have done a positive job.

Of the 4 remaining names after that, you have one (Laycoe) who was barely here and did nothing so has no real impact positive or negative, and three who were unequivocally negative GMs.

Laycoe will get my next vote and then we can sort out the donkeys.

Hiding under WTG's bed...
Once we got past the top 5/6, I think that’s what this ultimately became.
Only old pro wrestling fans would get this:

Ole Anderson describing Jim Cornette: I used to think you were the biggest dumb **** in the business but so many dumb ****'s have come & gone, you've moved up my rankings without doing a damn thing.

I am sure many poster here got the gist behind Mr. Aquilini's tweet.
He could not single out Green and Burke had mentioned before that Green would do good in Pittsburgh, that was before he got the job, Burke really liked him.
No doubt and astute agent would ask for permission to talk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<-<-<-
Which would result in a generic message
