Stillman with a strong game against his former team.
Levi with a strong game against his drafting team.
Mitts worked hard again but couldn't create a goal.

The Bad:

Offside taking a goal off the board.
Faceoff issues are a team problem not solvable by one player.
Bad luck on the first GA.
Thompson's no-look play part of the cascade of fail that lead to GA2. Special guest stars on that were Dahlin and Skinner.
Staal might be the slowest player in the NHL. Pick which one.
The PP unable to shrink the box and get a shot.
Thompson's last-second whiff.

The Ugly:

Florida's scoring table is so drunk.
The randomness of NHL officiating remains chaos.

Yea, I thought the net was wide open in real time. But the replay showed he really didn’t have an angle on the open net

I am not at all upset. They played with grit and heart against a veteran playoff-tested team and just came up short--largely because of a lack of experience in a playoff-type environment. This team is going places next year.

Good:
* Just like the Bills with Josh Allen, we now have our franchise goalie
* Sammy is a rock.
* Cozens line
* Mitts doing his grinding thing

Bad:
* Jost's two penalties
* Clutching, grabbing, 1990s hockey by FLA.
* Not shooting enough until the last 5 minutes
* Tage blowing a tire on that last one-timer

Ugly:
* Panthers playing style
* Shutting the playoff window

lyon was good. never got rattled and probably won them the game. FL was not that impressive in their own zone, lots of careless mistakes that i think we normally capitalize on… just not tonight unfortunately

I’m also having a bit of a hard time being optimistic about this season when the opportunity to make the playoffs was there for most of the season. I’m sick of waiting for next year when it’s supposed to be better. Just one year It would be nice for things to miraculously work out in our favor. Oh well, hopefully management uses the shortcomings of this team in big games as fuel to cut the fat off this roster.

Lyon’s numbers for his last 3 games were .952 and a 1.33 GA, plus a shutout. He was pretty damn good.

Was actually pretty pleased with the effort tonight. Usually they get completely bowled over in important games but they looked like they belonged at least. Small wins.

That said they have to be the softest team on the puck in the league. Have some elite snipers, can set up a mean passing play or rush on a good night, but the rest of the time is just brutal whiffing and scrambling with the puck in their feet like it's getting magnetically pushed away from their sticks. I dunno how but they gotta work on that.
