Etem should stay, and FFS I have learned to hate DSP. He literally provides nothing. Like I mentioned in another thread, I think the GDT or Roster thread, I'd prefer Rakell on that wing due to his faceoff/defensive abilities. I'm just not sold on BB being sold on BB's thoughts on Rakell v DSP physically.

I have to agree sadly. DSP just isn't showing much of anything right now...not even the physicality.

DSP has a negative +/-, he doesn't hit, he doesn't score... He brings some energy and forechecking but that's nothing even compared to his performance last year. I wonder if he was ruined last year by giving him an NHL job right away. Now just by looking him play, it seems like he doesn't even try to play better. DSP needs to be sent down because now he's just wasting a roster spot. Keep Rakell or call up Holland or McMillan. He needs to earn his spot back.

I want DSP sent down too. I don't think he's good enough to justify his spot, or hits enough to overlook his play. He also doesn't play physical before or after the whistle, which would also make me give some slack.

But to be fair to the guy, he is putting up the hit stats. While he's an unimpressive 9th in hits on the team, he's actually 3rd in hits/TOI.

Personally, I'd rather have this debate in the general roster discussion thread. I don't think there's a big controversy about the pros and cons, and it seems to be the consensus, anyway. I don't think it's good style to have a thread dedicated to the demotion of a young player this way.

I don't want to impose that view by just locking/merging it, but I do hope the point is agreeable and we can get rid of this one.

DSP hasn't even been physical at all these past games. Not NHL ready at the moment, demote him and bring in the lineup Rakell or Holland.

Feel free to do whatever you want with the thread. This is the biggest issue I have with the team right now, so I wanted to see where everyone else stands on this. Now it's clear that we're almost all in agreement. Go ahead and merge/delete this if you want to.

Sorry if this is a double post, didn't see this anywhere else..Looks like a lot of of the people from this board (myself included) finally got their wish. Ideally I hope DSP comse back and shows us what we were all hoping for but this season it didn't appear like he was bringing anything to the table.

Hopefully he watched how Staubitz played and gets it in his skull that he was drafted because of physical play. He has talent and hopefully replace Cogs with some developement
