We know that if Turris isn't signed by Dec 1 he can't play in the NHL this year.
We know that if a team extends him an offer sheet, Phoenix has 7 days to either match, or yield and receive compensatory picks.
What I don't know is what happens when those timelines overlap. If a team extends Turris an offer sheet on Nov 28 (...can they?), does Phoenix have to make its match-or-yield decision before Dec 1 if they want him to play this year? Or does the offer sheet date count as the date of the contract even if they take until Dec 4 to match the offer?
