Not sure why people are laughing at this. BNL are more talented and have sold more records than a lot of the options on this list.

The greatest Canadian artist is undoubtedly Devin Townsend though.

Sloan and The Tea Party should really, really be amongst the choices. Like, their omission from the first post is definitely controversial, especially Sloan (one could argue at The Tea Party had too many misses after The Edges of Twilight).

Voivod, Woods of Ypres and Skinny Puppy on the more metal side of things probably belong.

Les Cowboys Fringants (well, Québec is in Canada, right...?) just drew something like 75K people in Québec (la ville, là) on a Monday, and I'm even not sure any of the bands/artists on the first page would manage to do so in a bigger city.

I suppose you could make a case for Sum41 too.
