They're 22nd in the league in point % at .525 and they could drop to 23rd if Ottawa passes them. Hard to see them going lower than that, the next lowest after Ottawa's .518 is Stl with .482, and they just traded their Captain.

St. Louis is still somewhat competitive, though, and in the West. Maybe they top out at the 9th pick. Philadelphia will sell some (TVR, maybe Hayes) but Torts promises to have their attention still at this point. Whereas the Caps have a lame duck coach, an entrenched vet team with nothing to play for and probably even more players headed out the door. You wonder at some point if some of the others may want out.
