So this is a bunch of Jedi AOTC stand-ins 100 years before TPM where no one cares?
If it’s only a hundred years before The Phantom Menace, I wonder if we’ll get cameos of a younger Yoda or Darth Plagueis.
Most of the characters in this are described as Jedi, former Jedi or witches, so I'm afraid that it'll be closer to Ahsoka. Some of the early quotes about this gave us indication that it may be more of a slow-burn thriller ala Andor, and I hope that's the case. But the amount of light saber porn in the second half of that trailer makes me skeptical. Hoping for some real substance, and not a repeat of Ahsoka.
I'm fine with the characters being Jedi or other force users, I'm just hoping that there's a lot more substance to it than just eye candy and fight choreography. There's a lot of room to play with the internal politics of the Jedi order and how force users fit into the universe beyond just having engage in martial arts and swing laser swords. Most of the characters in this are described as Jedi, former Jedi or witches, so I'm afraid that it'll be closer to Ahsoka.
So would be like 764 years old in the Acolyte, don't know how much younger he would be in Yoda species years tbhLooks interesting! Nice to finally have a story set in another era.

92 years before Anakin's "miraculous" birth so I doubt we'll have anything Skywalker related. If Carrie-Anne Moss is on board then so am I.
Happy they're finally doing some branching out to subject matter beyond the Skywalker bloodline. It has more than served its purpose. There's a whole rich galaxy to explore with tons of groundwork laid to do so in the EU. Hoping this show is more like Andor than Ahsoka or Kenobi. I'm not super huge on the Jedi stuff but a bad Sith mfer done properly always makes for good content.
I think too many of the characters look visually uninteresting. It looks like a bunch of normies doing cos play.
I didn't hate ROP, but no that you mention it, they were cosplaying lolLike Ring of Power? I watched The Wheel of Time recently and thought it was good for the most part, but the characters in Ring of Power seem to be cosplaying and not acting imo
"This isn't about good or bad. It's about power and who's allowed to use it."Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a "Jedi are bad" thing?
From a recent interview with the series creator:"This isn't about good or bad. It's about power and who's allowed to use it."
Yeah it kind of sounds like it's going to be a modern take on "power". Jedi are questionable because they have power.
Something more traditional would have been the classic struggle between good and evil.
It sounds like the Jedi are corrupted by power and some are the bad guys, while the Sith are the underdogs and some are the good guys. It seems like it's going to be far from traditional Star Wars.So I would say that our show is more on the latter. It’s more about individualized relationships. You’re in the headspace of a lot of different characters. People who are good guys can be bad guys, and people who are bad guys can be good guys. There’s a lot of moral ambiguity, which is why Jodie’s [Turner-Smith] line in the trailer is so important: “This isn’t about good or bad; this is about power and who is allowed to use it.” And I believe, of course, that the Jedi are a benevolent, well-intentioned institution, but they are an institution and they have amassed all the power. So the question becomes when did that happen, and since we know where they’re headed in Phantom Menace, what went wrong? What are the cracks in that? So you definitely get the point of view of the Jedi, especially in terms of Amandla’s character and trying to stop her and hunt her down. But you also get enough of Amandla’s character’s perspective that you can also see how both of them exist simultaneously.

"It was very challenging and interesting to make a Star Wars with no war in it. So the question became, 'Well, what should the show be about if it's not going to be about galactic conflict?'"It seems like it's going to be far from traditional Star Wars.
Oh, Disney hasn't had free reign up to this point? You mean where they have free reign to define a story without it turning into Skywalker fan service yet again?
The "it's breaking canon if all the Jedi in this don't die" take is just as bad. As if the prequels weren't proof the Jedi didn't want to admit that the Sith were back, or that there aren't numerous non-Sith in canon that have red lightsaber blades.I think it has potential but the sheer swaths of people screeching "WOKE" online is f***ing embarrassing
