I thought Brzustewicz was a pretty promising prospect up until a few days ago. But he’s really taken a step back in the last few days.
Anyhoo, how about that Mynio kid!!!

You weren’t wrong about that Mynio kid !! 11 goals on the season now

I know your post is a little tongue in cheek, but I have been Mynio>Brzustewicz for a while now. I posted this Jan 15:
I hope I am wrong and that Brzustewicz can continue to perform at higher levels, but I am on the Mynio is the better prospect bandwagon at this point.
Main reason: skating. Mynio is so smooth and though Brzustewicz is good on his edges, he lacks straight line speed.
Also, his points totals are a tad inflated. It has cooled down a little from the start of the year, but Kitchener had been scoring on >20% of their shots with Hunter on the ice and he has been racking up the second assists.
Brzustewicz has his detractors among the public scouting community, for example:

I never liked Brzu to begin with, Mynio was always where it was at, totally never doubted it for a second of my life.

But Y is sometimes a vowel 🤓

well it is used to make a vowel sound.

the r in brz is used as a vowel too. both r and y are among the many consonants that can be used to make vowel sounds in english.

but r even more so in slavic languages as hunter could tell you.

Not making much of it but Brz passed in the scoring by 17 year old d-man Shayne Parehk - one the best Asian-Canadian prospect ever. Parehk really is a great story and should go high in the draft this year.

Here's a pretty cool bit on the kid. Hope he makes it - we need more diversity in hockey.

That's super interesting. Thanks for sharing that! Pacing 100+ on your draft year as a dman is more than exceptional. Did a bit more digging and it looks like there might be some defensive warts?

From The Hockey News:

21. Zayne Parekh, RHD, Saginaw (OHL), Six-foot, 178 pounds

Do you want the good news or the bad news?

The good news is that Parekh is a highly productive and dynamically skilled defenseman who has done nothing but attack play head-on and create with skilled passing, nifty puckhandling and a willingness to create his own shot. He is a lethal offensive weapon.

The bad news is that he sometimes ignores defensive assignments, lets up in puck races and seems to have no interest in physical contact. The good with Parekh is outstanding. The bad is concerning. Is he the next Ryan Merkley or the next Evan Bouchard?

Boy oh Boy this is just getting really ugly . Obviously I thought the World Junior 2018 Canada team was bad .

But now here we go , my good old pal Connor Lockhart is under investigation by The Police and has been granted a leave of absence by his new Junior team , no details yet on why , But I have to imagine it’s pretty awful and ominous,

Preparing for this to be really bad

Connor Lockhart is not signed by the Canucks, and didn't attend the 2023-24 prospect camp or training camp. He's a 21-year-old playing in the OHL. This might be the end of the road for him.

Did a quick look and it says he was suspended indefinitely by what sounds like both the league and the team based on code of conduct

OT, but I love how the second we trade him, the media (Marrk?) says “he’s been called the Adam Fox of the OHL”.

Bitch, who called him that once during his time as Canuck property?!
This drove me nuts listening to the the eastern media discuss that trade. Marek started saying it out of absolutely nowhere on both 32 Thoughts and his own pod/radio show. Then everyone else seemingly picked up on it too.

I remember thinking "wtf, that's news to me?!"

Pre-trade brz was a small OFD with questionable skating that everyone was fine with being left off the US WJC camp because of his poor defense, to overnight being called Adam Fox of the OHL , with Flames fans proclaiming him to have a Tanev-like defensive game.

I repeat.. WTF

Hell at least Brz is actually a good prospect. What really cracked me up was Jurmo becoming somebody overnight
You'd think a fanbase that follows their prospects as closely as Canuck fans do having basically given up on him might tip them off... but no. Flamers are apparently looking forward to seeing him in camp next year. Reminds me of that time i was excited when i heard Persson was joining my local whl team.
