Teddy Bear Toss

Even going back to the ECHL days, some of the Checkers biggest draws were the Teddy Bear Toss games.

As someone else mentioned, it's more for the minor-league teams to get more people to come and also to give back to their communities.

Great PR and generates awesome local media coverage too. Amazing photo-OP.

Even in Winnipeg for the AHL team, they have generated a lot of buzz over the past few years with the teddy bear toss game.

OHL game of the week on NHLN yesterday between Guelph and Hamilton had teddy bear toss. Took about 16 minutes to clean up the bears. Had 4-5 vehicles (including 2 vans and a pickup) plus large wheeled bins getting filled.

(I also noted they dropped 100+ bears from the ceiling into the middle of the ice to start the chaos.)
