The 1984/85 Winnipeg Jets had 6 players with 30 or more:

Dale Hawerchuk: 53
Paul MacLean: 41
Laurie Boschman: 32
Brian Mullen: 32
Doug Smail: 31
Thomas Steen: 30

I believe at the time it was a record but with the passage of time I'm not sure if that's even true. In the interim (again, if it was a record) it may have changed. I've searched these boards and the internet in general but haven't found anything.

I thought I would leave it up to the knowledgeable hockey minds here for input and possible confirmation of the current record.

I recall the year the Sabres lost to the Flyers in the 1975 Finals that Buffalo had six 30+ goal scorers.

Robert, Perreault, Martin, Luce, Dudley and Gare.

Cheers, thanks for the link. I was looking over that Sabres' roster from '74-'75. Interesting how the Sabres' 6 and the Jets' 6 match up in terms of their goal totals exactly 10 seasons apart:

Sabres
1. Rick Martin: 52
2. Rene Robert: 40
3. Gilbert Perreault: 39
4. Don Luce: 33
5. Rick Dudley: 31
6. Danny Gare: 31

;) My guess is that is the record. Six for those two teams.

I think one of the late 70s Bruins' teams has the mark for most 20+ goal scorers at 11 or 12.

As far as I can tell, there were only three teams with six 30+ goal-scorers: the '75 Sabres, the '78 Islanders and the '85 Jets.

The Islanders had Bossy (53 goals), Trottier (46), Gillies (35), Potvin (30), Bourne (30) and Nystrom (30).

Several teams just missed out, with five 30+ goal scorers and one 29-goal scorer: the '71 Bruins, '72 Canadiens, the '76 Penguins (surprise) and the '82 and '83 Oilers.

The '75 Canadiens very nearly had seven 30-goal scorers with Lafleur (53), Lemaire (36), P. Mahovlich (35), Lambert (32), Shutt (30), Cournoyer (29) and Lapointe (28).

82-83 Oilers had 5, with Coffey falling 1 short at 29.

Gretzky - 71
Messier - 48
Anderson - 48
Kurri - 45
Linesman - 33
Coffey - 29

Does Gretzky count twice because he had double 30? ;)

They also had 5 in 83-84 (Hughes at 27), 84-85, 85-86, 86-87, 87-88, and 88-89....

Never did pull off 6 though.

Five is the Flyers' record from what I can tell, too:

1972-73: MacLeish 50, Flett 43, Clarke 37, Barber 30, Dornhoefer 30.

1979-80: Leach 50, Barber 40, Propp 34, MacLeish 31, Holmgren 30.

Hard to believe that my hometown Jets pulled that off back then in the Smythe Division, that was Hawerchuk's peak in terms of his scoring production 53 goals, 77 assists and 130 points, finished second in the Hart Trophy race and was second team All Star..

If you wanna put it fair, Winnipeg had SEVEN players over 20 goals..Hawerchuk, McLean, Boshman, Steen, Mullen, Smail, Arniel and Turnbull..Arniel and Turnbull were mostly third line players who racked up 22 goals each..not bad..

The defense was pretty tight too..Carlyle, Babych, Ellet, Picard, Watters and Kyte..

This was the best Jets team every assembled back then up until 1992-1993 season, where that team was close to the 84-85 team.

Red Wings had 5 in 92-93 + Jimmy Carson who was traded at 25 and scored 30 later with LA.

77-78 New York Islanders actually had 6 in Bossy,Trottier,Gillies,Potvin,Nystrom and Bourne. The 72-73 Bruins had 9 20-Goal Scorers same for the 89-90 Flames.

The 77-78 Bruins had 11 20-goal scorers, which stands as the record.

Thread on Stars with 50 point players got me thinking how many 30 goal players a team has had and this popped up. Wonder if Jets still hold this record? Yah I know it's an old thread but why start a new one thought this be fun to resurrect instead. Sabres and islanders to sorry with 6.

If you want the most with exactly 30 goals, look at the 1968-69 Chicago Black Hawks leading scorers:

68-69_Hawks.PNG

The team finished last in the East Division at 34-33-9. I think that there was an automatic pay bonus for 30 goals, but no additional reward.
