Leo has a contract with Örebro for a few more years. Don't know if he can break it next season. But this 04-05 team (+ one 06:a) must be the best team we had for quite some time.

Leo Carlsson - Filip Bystedt - Otto Stenberg
Liam Öhgren - Noah Östlund - Jonathan Lekkerimäki
Alexander Suzdalev - David Edström - Oskar Pettersson
Noel Nordh - Anton Wahlberg - Fabian Wagner
Noah Dower Nilsson - Simon Zether - Alexander Zetterberg
Isac Born

Elias Pettersson - Mattias Hävelid
Calle Odelius - Elias Salomonsson
Theo Lindstein - Axel Sandin Pellikka
Jakob Norén - Anton Johansson
Filip Nordberg - Tom Willander

Hugo Hävelid
Noah Erliden
Lukas Swedin

also Felix Sörum Unger is a strong canidate. perhaps even felix nilsson

I really liked the idea of bringing a 06 to the tournament, and Zetterberg is the first choice to that..

Like jfc64 said, this is the best JVM team we have had in a while. Playing at home will add the chances to win a gold medal. Its now or maybe never.

Only thing that looks bright right now in Swedish hockey is this tourmament and U18 WJCs. Im really looking forward to this tournament. Juggernaut roster with a decent coach at home-ice in the wonderful arena Scandinavium. If we fail in this tournament, im hanging up.

I think Leo will stay one more year in SHL.

Bystedt - Leo - Suzdalev
Öhgren - Östlund - Lekkerimäki
Wahlberg - Wagner - Pettersson
Born - Edstrom - Stenberg
Filip Eriksson

Salomonsson - Hävelid
Lindstein - ASP
Pettersson - Wilander
Odelius

Hävelid
Hellnemo
Blomgren

I had Wahlberg higher up before. But Suzdalev is one year older and more mature. Dont wanna put that pressure on Wahlberg yet.

The DIF trio is all in SHL now, better league than Allsvenskan, but will they get much ice-time in SHL? Its a question mark .Maybe they should have stayed with DIF.

I dont see much changing upfront. You never know what will happen. But my 12 starting forwards seems spot on. The 13th forward could be anyone. Not sure whats up with the Rudslätt hype. If he makes this team, it will be as 13th forward.

Among Ds, Filip Nordberg has gotten a contract with Växjö. Him, Johansson in Leksand, Noren in MoDo...is gonna battle with Elias Pettersson and Odelius for a spot. Wilander, Salomonsson, Hävelid, ASP and Lindstein are locks.

Goalies are a huge question marks. Could be those 3 or 3 different goalies. Swedin, Erliden, Zetterström, Reidler, Glifford etc.

Players not mention yet in the thread:

Casper Nässen, big sized winger who produces lots of points.

Ludwig Labland, we all know how good juniors Mora have. He did a good job in Allsvenskan.

Ville Jonsson, son of Hans Jonsson.

Rasmus Larsson, big D in Västerås.

The competition at D will be scary.

IMO

Absolute Locks
Mattias Hävelid
Axel Sandin Pellikka
Elias Salomonsson

Hot Candidates
Jakob Norén
Calle Odelius
Elias Pettersson
Tom Willander
Theo Lindstein
Anton Johansson
Filip Nordberg
Hugo Fransson

The Rest
Frans Haara
Lucas Lagerberg Hoen
Rasmus Larsson
Adrian Carnebo
Oliver Casselsten
Hugo Hell
Noah Schalin
Albin Sundin
Arvid Bergström
Ville Jonsson
Axel Hurtig
Axel Landén
Albert Wikman
etc.

***
Pretty confident Tom Willander would be a key-player on this team, but we have not seen that many NCAA players on Swedish WJC-rosters in the past. (assuming he goes that route). Odelius I did not like a lot this season, but he can bounce back. Lindstein should get a big role in Brynäs and I know Leksands fans are strong believers Anton Johansson will have a monster season (underrated defenseman). Assuming there will be 7 D on the roster, the fight for the last 2-3 spots will be intense.

Noah Schalin is not good. Im saying this as a Malmö fan. He is not a canidate for this team. No way.

I would like to add Dennis Good Bogg instead.

For once, it does look that all the best will be eligible. Cannot see anyone playing in the NHL next season. Will be interesting to see if all those Djurgården players end up in the AHL or will continue playing with DIF. Guessing it could depend on the fact if Djurgården plays SHL or not.

Aside from the ones you listed, I would have the following underagers as outsiders to make the team

- Noah Erliden (-05)
- Tom Willander (-05)
- Anton Wahlberg (-05)
- Felix Nilsson (-05)
- Alfons Freij (-06)
- Alexander Zetterberg (-06)
- Karl Sterner (-06)

...but it could very well end up being only Stenberg and Pellikka-Sandin given the depth of the 04's. I do think a guy like Anton Wahlberg is a perfect fit for a fourth line.

As for Theo Lindstein, he was almost a better player two years ago than he is now. Horrible decision making at times. Interesting to see if he can get back on track or not.
As of right now, i dont see any 06 born and younger making it. But stuff always happens until December. It has to be someone who explodes completly with the seniors. Like being close to PPG to even have a chance to take a spot in this team. I could see Filip Ekberg doing that with Almtuna in Allsvenskan. Possible Karl Sterner with that size he has.

Among Ds its Freij and Jack Bodin...and perhaps Anton Olsson...there is magic in Mora.

If we play this lineup, i see us as favorites.. Very good top 6, strong d-core and decent goalies. This is our biggest chance in many years to win the tournament.

I also look forward to the training games in July, we will probably send a team without any top 04's
