Because 2018 world juniors was 2nd straight fiasco for Finland
it's time to take a look upcoming U18 WJC's in Russia.

Finland has been 3 straight years in gold medal game in this tournament their record is 1 gold 2 silver.
Some days ago Finland won 5 nation tournament in Switzerland which gives good signal to upcmoing U18's.

Finland's 2000 born age group isn't so deep in skill and talent but there's some good prospects.

Utunen Honka

Killinen Kupari Nevasaari
Rannisto Salmela.

3rd line Maccelli Nikkanen Aaltonen
Seppälä Kukkonen

4th line Salonen Tanus Ranta.
13th forward Konsta Hirvonen / Eetu Mäki / Jesse Moilanen / Mikko Petman / Ville Petman ( depending injuries)
7th defenceman Lassi Thomson / Ville Heinola / Juuso Ketola / Iivari Räsänen ( depending injuries)

Annunen should be solid nr 1 goalie
Honka is our nr 1 star d-man
Kokkonen should be good d-man for u18 wjc
Salmela great support d-man for Honka
Kotkaniemi is our nr 1 star center
Kupari is our nr 2 star center
Kakko,Ranta,Tanus,Nordgren, our top 6 looks really good

We might not have super deep team this year (like above in the first post says)
but our top 6 and top 4 looks really good with solid goaltending,
i think we have a...well, at least some sort of chance to defend our gold. - successfully -

That offense looks like huge questionmark after the first line without Maccelli and Kupari.

Kupari will miss at least preliminary round games, most likely the whole tournament.

Kakko scored 1+1 against Switzerland in an exhibition game. Finland won 4-3.

3-2 loss against Canada after they were down 3-0 after 2nd period. They had a good chance to tie it after Canada took a penalty 1.5min left in the game, but Kotkaniemi took a slashing penalty 25 seconds before the end so..

Kotkaniemi 1+1, Kakko 0+1, Nordgren 1+0, Honka 0+1.

Finland wins Slovakia 5-2.
OK game for 1st game of the tournament but too many idiotic penalties and sloppy puck handling with lots of turnovers. Annunen was very good in the net when it was needed yes he allowed 2 goals but they weren't easy or sloppy goals.

Idiotic penalties and turnovers away and more powerplay goals during the tournament and everything is OK.

Where were you able to watch it/do you know if an archived game will be available anywhere?
