That Czech team was really good. Nobody was close to Hasak at that point in his career and he showed why. It also didn't hurt the Czech's having Jagr, Rucinsky, Svoboda, etc. They were a very strong team and IMO one of the best Czech teams ever.
they deserved to lose..the team had a clear flyers bias..lindros and his questionable character with the C over gretzky had many shaking their heads at the time..13 years later it still seems like total blasphemy..
not only that, but not choosing gretzky for the shootout was just mindboggling..shanahan was a great player but could not and should not be put in a situation where he had to carry the nation's expectations on his shoulders..
mark messier should have been on the team and instead you had some no-name jobber by the name of rob zamuner replacing messier's leadership..
in the end, the main reason was bobby clarke..in no way should he have been the GM of that team.
