Voted Eklund, but could've made arguments for at least 4-5 other selections.

Would go with Eklund. I feel the Ducks D is pretty solid and only getting better with the youth developing like with Drysdale and Benoit, and have several other guys knocking on the NHL door.

They need Top 6 scoring forwards desperately and Eklund can make a difference as early as next season or the season after. He also is a C and can play wing. Draft is not enough to fill those Top 6 holes but it’s a good start. I still think Beniers falls to #3 due to his injury.

I really like both Hughes and Eklund, but even with some skating concerns, Clarke has topped my hypothetical rankings pretty much all year and I’m sticking with him.

How much of Hughes' potential is being imputed from his brothers compared with what he's shown on his own? If his name was Dan Bylsma, Jr., would he be this highly thought of?

Even saw a comment suggesting we would get a big publicity boost from having one of the famous Hughes brothers. Anyone hearing any more about New Jersey than they ever did?

Went with Edvinsson, he seems like a guy the Ducks scouting staff would love

Clarke will be a very, very solid d man. However , Hughes has way more upside in my opinion and has the ceiling to be better than both his brothers.

Eklund looks like an absolute stud

Hes played about as well as you can at 17-18 against men in the 3rd best league in the world, without it tallying up all the points
You want Hughes so bad you are in the Anaheim forum... I'm dead.

Honestly?

i was there to read the tears lmfao. But I also gave some opinions on moves they should consider, because if they cant even make the playoffs then its not fun to watch them get knocked out ;)

''He recently hit a mini slump of zero points in seven games, but his 0.89 points-per-game average through March 11 is right around where notable NTDP alums such as Adam Fox (0.92), Quinn Hughes (0.82), and Cam York (1.03) were in their respective under-18 seasons.''
The Draft Analyst
Actually this was interesting as well:
''Although this year’s NTDP schedule to date has been far thinner on powerhouse NCAA and European under-18 opponents than in previous seasons, Hughes has been more productive against older collegiate competition (13 points in 12 games) than against junior-age USHL’ers (18 points in 22 games).''
Even saw a comment suggesting we would get a big publicity boost from having one of the famous Hughes brothers. Anyone hearing any more about New Jersey than they ever did?
I was one of those people that said it pretty much from the start.
I had not suddenly seen NJ Devils billboards or anything but I have seen tons of materials whether from NHL accounts, or from media, talking about and interviewing the brothers. I see that as a clear positive, but it's not among the top reasons why to draft him. Just to be clear.

McTavish is the highest riser, Getzlaf replacement and goes to the net, scores, tough, 1st line potential
Very rare to get a chance at a player like this
