Don't worry I'm sure they will figure out something.. Magic and Voodoo are also reasonable answers.Allow me to be the first to say "with what cap?"

You don’t need cap, they will just LTIR Stamkos or Vasilevskii for the remainder of the regular season with scheduled surgeries. They will then be ready for Game One of the playoffs. Profit.Allow me to be the first to say "with what cap?"
I wonder if this is where the Tyler Johnson and a 1st cap dump goes to. Columbus certainly has the space for Johnson's contract.
Johnson was apparently okay with the idea of being traded in the offseason, but now? I just don't know.I wonder if this is where the Tyler Johnson and a 1st cap dump goes to. Columbus certainly has the space for Johnson's contract.

This would require some kind of really serious magic and voodoo as an above commenter suggested. For Rutta with Savard retained 50% by Columbus and another 50% retained by Vancouver? We're just going to have to throw 1st rounders overhand to get something like that accomplished.
Tune in to find outWith Kucherov back for the playoffs, who can stop them? They are better than every other team at every position.
Isn't 50% the max retention? As in, you couldnt have a third team retain another 50%.Johnson was apparently okay with the idea of being traded in the offseason, but now? I just don't know.

unpopular opinion, but I don't see carolina in tampas league still. they're a very good but not great team that still is very flawed IMO. I don't think they can play inside the dots against a top tier team like tampa stillWell of course they are.
If they land him I want to see how Carolina& Florida will answer
A player can be retained 50% by 2 different teams. So the team that winds up with the player is on the hook for only 25% of the original cap hit.Isn't 50% the max retention? As in, you couldnt have a third team retain another 50%.

I think they have the max allowed on LTIRTampa could also just get Dubinsky included in the trade, that would increase their LTIR pool enough to add Savard to the team. Doesn't look like Columbus will need the 'extra space'.
