Hall has said multiple times that he wants to play in the playoffs. That’s not gonna happen in New Jersey. So he is leaving. Simple as that.

Devils are also getting Jack Hughes and are armed with plenty of picks/cap space this summer to make upgrades.

How about we wait until he is actually allowed to sign a contract extension and/or what the Devils roster looks like at the start of the season before we make baseless claims, k?

Hall is probably too big a fish for the Preds to go after in a trade. With him, you have to give up big assets and then turn right around and give him an enormous new contract as well to protect your investment. There are better options for the Preds to chase than Hall.

Re-signing is up to Taylor of course, however If Ray lets him walk for nothing I’d assume that would be a fireable offense. Hall can only walk for free if the devils let him. Hence there being no way in hell the devils let him get to July 1st 2020. Either he will re-sign or be traded...it’s that simple.
