I know isles fans are upset but I dont even think he wouldve gotten that much considering he was gonna be a ufa

More than we gave up for Stastny but probably less than you think.

There's only a certain amount of assets teams are willing to give up at the TDL.

But yeah it would've started with a 1st + prospect, so the Isles missed out on good assets either way.

Think of the best return for a player you can remember at the trade deadline in the past. That's what Tavares would have fetched UFA or not. Players like him don't become available very often and when they do....the return hurts.

Meh. I don’t think it’s linear. You would get. Top 6 roster player, good prospect and late 1. Maybe like a 3rd.

Look what hossa got. Dallas reportedly isn’t going to give a top prospect for a year of Karlson. Never mind potentially a playoff round.
