I'll remind you that Trotz was on board when most of the best ones were drafted, so there is a possibility he had a bit to do with it too. I mean since he left we've had what Fabbro, Carrier, and Girard? If you are only looking for home runs; expect to strike out a lot! You need at least 7 Dman in the NHL. You can't afford a third pair like the Preds had in 2017. It killed them vs the Pens.
Sure but Josi is getting older, McDonagh is a #3 at this point and you have absolutely no one in the pipeline with the potential to fill those #1 and #2 spots that you would really want there. At a certain point you've got to find that guy, and you aren't going to find him by drafting guys you hope are just an NHL Dman.
