I figure this could probably use its own thread.

The Sinbin guys got a behind the scenes tour of the arena. The therapy pools make another appearance, but there are a few hidden gems.

Either the Knights or the Rabbits, I guess. :)

Oh, it's the Knights.

Why not put up a huge mural of the skyline? It's Vegas, that's what we do.

That gives a little idea of what it will look like for hockey.

I'm looking at these pictures again and wondering where the friggin scoreboard is.

Am I crazy, or is it missing? You can see the red line from that last shot, and it seems like it should be there. Is my spacial recognition off?

It's raised into the ceiling.

It's raised into the ceiling.

So it's rigged to the roof and not the beams in the picture?

Maybe I've never noticed how they rig those things, but I don't think I've ever seen that. It seems special.

Is there a hole in the steel grid that's visible in the pics where it hides?

Yes theres a hole in the grid that perfectly fits the scoreboard up into.

It's raised during concerts for sight lines and not being used.

Wonder if they also did that so they could perform some occasional maintenance on it there instead of the floor, so as to not interrupt floor crews changing setups?

You can see the square in the grid above the scoreboard in this picture.

Was at GRA for prospect camp this week and noticed they have the same setup in their attic space. Big hole for the board to fit into. Just wished they had the same board.

More budget friendly within an easy walk to the arena: Tropicana, Excalibur.

NYNY and Park MGM/Nomad are both adjacent to the arena. MGM Grand is nearby but I've never been impressed with it for the rates it charges.

Upscale options within a walk: Aria, Cosmopolitan, Bellagio.

Ubering over to the game is a pain, and Ubering after the game even worse. If your trip is centered around going to a couple VGK games, strongly recommend staying in that neighborhood. If there are other draws for your trip there, Ubering isn't impossible, just a pain. Just resolve to hang around in one of the nearby casinos after the game until the traffic controls have ended and all the designated pickup spots are reachable for the driver again.

Other options include the Sahara and any of the other casinos on the East side of the strip where you can take the monorail down to MGM Grand.
