Czech team.. not expecting much. Happy to see Chlapik and Spacek. Bit concerned to see Sobotka and Hrubec after the Olympic debacle.lol Good players mind you just ptsd.

This is what decades of losing at the World Jr's eventually looks like... decent goalies that can't carry a below average D with some nice pieces at forward.

On a funny note.. the Czech media is in a big pissing match on why Domink Lakatos is not invited. Personally, I don't care that much as he sounds like a Extraliga PP specialist and I don't think he'd be better on PP1 then a long list of players. However, the reason has apparantly come out - he was invited to National Team last year and said he was injured and then posted photos from his vacation. I don't know if he was injured on vacation or caught in a lie tbh. But Jalonen seems to not be interested.lol If I misread it.. please correct me.

Bring on the Finn's... looks like they have a pretty solid roster. I didn't realize Hrabik was invited.. curious if he can get his career back on track. I was a fan. I still have no idea how Smejkal hasn't got an NHL opportunity as a very good bottom 6er.

Nothing to scare Finland but I like all the lines.. I'm a huge Spacek fan and still think Chlapik makes his way back to the NHL. It is almost like a tryout for the bottom 6 at the World's.

Spacek on the half wall setting things up.. I will say when i see Stransky and Hrubec I get PTSD from the Olympics debacle.lol Think it was Chlapik with the pass to Stansky. Just a nice goal all around.

Hrubec counfounds me... he wins everywhere. He may be the best Euro goalie (it could be argued) and our best non NHL goalie. He won Czech league, KHL and is near top of NLA. Yet, when he plays for us.. it doesn't go well.

He's been great so far today as Finn's have had the run of the 2nd period.

They won... 2 weird goals balance each other out. We got the early lead and never relinquished it. That is rare for us and straight out of the Finnish playbook. We bent but didn't break. Nice to see.

Yes I know it means nothing but I do enjoy these games and seeing guys like Chlapik and Spacek on top line.

Magnus Nygren is terrible.

Marcus Sörensen biggest suprise so far. Makes things happen, slippery with the puck, fast and physical. He is showing even thought you have a bad season in the club, you can still do good with the NT.

Czechs with a weaker lineup today... Chlapik hurt his ankle walking in 'snowy Finland'.lol Sklenicka (probably our best D here is ill). Hrabik not playing (no idea why). Najman is a new debut and is 21! Vozelnik is 26 and also debuting.

Like last time, looks like a real nice tryout for a the bottom 6 at the Skoda Cup!
