Lundqvist was unable to place his stamp on the match despite an outstanding effort. Perhaps it is poetic justice that on Thursday, Lundqvist will be honored as one of four hockey players whose pictures will appear on stamps in Sweden, joining Nicklas Lidstrom, Borje Salming and national team hero Jorgen Jonsson, the brother of Kenny Jonsson.

“I don’t know if I deserve it, but I am very proud to be recognized in this way,” Lundqvist said. “It means a lot.

can anyone figure out if they ship to the us.

they do ship abroad, so I guess that abroad includes USA/Canada, since it does not state otherwise.

Can a Swede here do me a favor and mail me a few of them?

That would mean that they have to buy stamps to mail you some stamps.

And you'd send a reply thanking them, probably using one of the stamps they bought you, essentially giving them back their own stamp.

The nerve.

Wow, that just proves that Sweden is no big country. With lagre territory they have less population than NYC. I am sure if city had his own Postal Service apart from Federal, Hank would have gotten his stamp in here too.

Original No. He has never had a chance to wear it here. First it was worn by Richer, and then Richter was quickly canonized after retirement.

Beatified. He only gets canonized if he's involved in an MSG miracle such as Torts manifesting a sunny disposition or Dancing Larry growing hair. Fingers crossed.

I hope you're able to order them if you want those stamps, I don't feel like going through the hassle of mailing you guys stamps and manage to get compensated.

That's actually Jörgen Jönsson. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=108

Don't really know why they included him but I guess it's because he has played the most games all time for team Sweden.
That's a really weird choice. Salming, Lidström and Lundqvist I get. But Jönsson (then even his brother would've been a better choice)?! Why not Forsberg, Sundin, Alfredsson, Zetterberg, the Sedins or someone else? Heck, even Karlsson despite his young age?

It is fitting that Hank is on a stamp as it appears the Rangers are mailing it in anyway.
I know I know troll. Couldn't pass it up. Great honor for a great goalie

2 Olympic Golds, 2 IIHF WC Golds, 5 National Golds (including all three the same year (2006)).

Add 285 games for the national team, many of them as Captain (except when Sundin was available).

He might seem like an odd choice, but only from a strictly North American horizon ;)

Not only. Sure, he had an impressive career, but he never was an elite player. It's like making a stamp collection with Gre-No-Li, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrik Larsson and Klas Ingesson.
