Could they LTIR him and bring him back at the beginning of the playoffs and then not have to be concerned about anything cap this season anymore.

At this point would only need to do that for cap considerations as roster limit is gone.

But guessing owners would like to not pay excessively for salary, if they can.

This could be a blessing in disguise. If it is a minor injury and they are being extra cautious, the team has to figure out how to make it to the finish line without him, then he is infused for the playoffs.

They arent the same team without him, so I dont think they win as many as they would have, but let's see that next man up mentality.

Sounds like it could be a strategic move. Could possibly play through it if it was needed but they know what they will get out of Stone. Probably just banged up as all vets are this time of year.
