Richards performance in Game 1 of the Vancouver series set the tone for the rest of the Cup run. The Kings may or may not have won an up and down skill-based series, but seeing mental fragility, identifying who to trigger, establishing dominance and never letting up was what turned a good team that couldn't win a round into a juggernaut that picked up steam as it rolled over everything in its path.

Most hockey teams have enough skill to beat any opponent on a given night, but winning Cups and trophies requires a completely different skill set and nobody ever had that more than Mike Richards. Stats, skills, just window dressing that will always be beat by the right mentality.

Easily my favorite King during his tenure here.

Mike Richards was a beauty. It didn't last long but was well worth it. Not a big fan of Blake but I am hoping we say that one day about his deals.

The Mike Richards fall from grace was one of the more spectacular things I've ever seen. Boy, was he a beast for the Kings for a couple seasons.
