Speculation: Steve Y in a Salary Pickle!

Mr. Y is in a Pickle with 69 mill committed with Kucherov and Nesterov still needing to be signed.

Something has to Give! In a perfect World Steve is able to trade Filppula 5mill, Callahan 5.8 cap hit, or Carle 5.5 to enable him to retain the 2 RFa's. Problem is no one wants Filp or Call at those cap hits.


Sooner or later a trade will have to be made to get Kucherov and Nesterov signed. By no means is this going to be easy one for Steve to get done and even harder with Expansion around the corner.


Who will be dealt? What makes sense? With Tampa so close to Drinking from the Cup What would You do if You were Steve?

All the talk is around Bishop but he should be retained and dealt before the expansion.

Thoughts on out come of of this Salary Crunch?

FYI...Carle was already bought out.

We can sign Kucherov and Nesterov without making any trades. Callahan will be on LTIR (and can be added now) for the first month of the season, so no one has to be traded until he is ready.

None of this post makes any sense at all. Carle has already been bought out, Callahan is nearly impossible to move, expansion has nothing to do with resigning Kucherov and Nesterov, and dealing Bishop before expansion makes zero sense considering he doesn't require protection and will be an impending UFA. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
