I think there are a variety of personal reasons why a player might seek a back-loaded contract in the NHL, but I am also curious to see how that might translate to on-ice play. Are there any statistics for players who signed back-loaded 3-year+ contracts? I would like to see how their performance relates to their contract structure and term relative to those who signed front-loaded or flat contracts.
