As a far away fan, it can be difficult to follow the CHL.
The OHL and WHL have much more info than the Q, so I was so greatfull, when I kind poster (#57) concoctuded a mini "Team by Team" guide for the QMJHL.
http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showpost.php?p=66951483&postcount=60
Inspired by the great posters that use these boards (and my frustration at not being able to find an official guide), I expanded on #57s stellar work for 2012-13 by adding the top draft pick (credit to HockeyBuzz Adam French for the "Q" mini Draft profiles), Best Forward/ D-man/ Tough Guy/ Starting Goaltender etc...
http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showpost.php?p=66951483&postcount=60

I would love to see a similar , "at a glance guide for the OHL", if any of the knowledgeable fans here, could help.

Thanks buddy!
Reading great things about Greg Betzold at Brocks OHL prospects, and I understand that young Nick Ritchie is the Pete`s "go to guy" and should be seeing a improved output this year.

Expect a monster season from him if he can stay healthy. He dominated with his size last season and he still has room to improve his strength.

Ill give it my best shot for the otters to help out. It will likely look something like this:

Strome-McDavid-Crisp
Fox-Cairns-Brown
Lattavo-Petit-Hodgson
Wigle-Evans-Betz
Travis Wood, Trent Fox, and Sean Kohler as potential extra forwards

Pelech-McDowell
Import-Raddysh
Saban-Abraham
Dermott, Donnay as potential extras

Felker (D) and Harper (LW) could also be in there depending on if Bassin trades them or not

Dansk
Williams
Dekoning as the third goalies

Eligible for the 2013 Draft: Harper, Evans, Betz. Expect Harper to be the only one taken, probably somewhere in the later rounds.

Whalers Fan Thank you so much. I am a huge Caps fan and I know they were delighted at young Tom Wilsons progress. He looked pretty good I gather in AHL action too this spring, but I think another year in the OHL will really give him even more confidence.
Now he has added offence, he looks like a steal at 16th overall.

erieottersnews Is there a word that Harper will be traded?
I thought he was a key figure?

Thank you both for your input, as always, and as I said to Petesfan & Howlman, it is greatly appreciated.

During the middle of this terribly disappointing season, Sherry Bassin said hes going to remove the players that don't put enough effort in. Theres been talk that either Harper, Crisp or Cairns may be dealt to bring in defense. All three are very talented but just dont seem to care and are inconsistent.

Tom Wilson played so well in the OHL playoffs, and subsequently in the AHL, that I think there is a 50/50 chance he sticks with the Capitals. It all depends on how Washington approaches next season. One thing is certain -- Wilson will give 100% effort where ever he is next season. The guy puts forth more effort on the ice than any Whaler I've seen in many years. It has been really fun to watch him develop over the past few years in Plymouth.

If he is back I imagine he would be dealt at the deadline. Would be a huge return.

Mike Vellucci has never been one to trade away his top players, no matter how the team is doing. Plymouth will be trying to make the playoffs, so I would actually be surprised to see Wilson dealt if he's back from the NHL.

I do agree, though, that Wilson would bring a huge return if he were traded.

It would be awesome to see wilson return but I just don't see it happening. He made contributions during his brief playoff stint in Washington, and played well with the Hershey Bears before that. If he doesn't stick with the caps next year he's in the AHL I think. He's ready for the pro game.

Since no one else has tried tackling the Bulls roster yet:

Curtis(OA) - Gaunce - Berisha
Hooey - Petti - Import
Heffernan - Simmonds(OA) - Bricknell
Cramarossa - Coric - Laishram

Other possible F: Brassard (OA), Quine (OA), Ming, Cobbold, Colella, Supryka, Luff

Austin (OA) - Subban
Bignell - Desousa
Worrad (OA) - Lemcke

Other possible D: Morris, Bean, Besner, Shore, Barnes

Graham
Banitsiotis

Other possible G: Hicks

Should be about 4-7 fresh faces suiting up for Belleville this year, but still some strong players and some breakout candidates too ( Petti, Berisha, Desousa are 3 to watch for). This team won't lack grit and size but will need a big offensive contribution from the back-end in order to stay competitive. A forward in the import draft is a big need, someone who can play the right-side in the top six would be ideal. If the Bulls are out of contention by mid-season expect them to consider moving top veteran players such as Gaunce, Curtis, Austin, Worrad and maybe even Graham.

heusy_79 The Bulls info was brilliant, thank you very much: I enjoyed tuning into a lot of Bulls action, so cheers!
Cfriss216As a Caps fans I am delighted by Wilson`s development.
Everything I hear about him is impressive, even though I wasnt entirely en-amoured at the time he was drafted, after seeing him in limited action (and seeing his massive improvement statistically) I am as pleased as anything the Caps nabbed him.

Thanks to everyone who has posted....once I get the "full set", I plan to hammer the works printer at work, for my own "mini guide" (yes, that is my wife you can hear laughing in the background at my nerdyness...lol)

Wilson is not eligible for the AHL next season. It's either the NHL or OHL for him for one more year. Wilson should definitely get his nine game trial with the Caps to start the season. He may be ready to stay there the entire season, but a lot depends on Washington's approach to next season. I would expect the GM and coach to be on the hot seat after another poor playoff appearance, and they may not want to keep a development project on the roster while trying to save their jobs. If Wilson really wows them during his trial, though, they may have no choice.

For Owen Sound...

I've offered up the roster on how I think things might look for the bulk of the year. Amongst those eligible to return, it is highly unlikely that we will see Jordan Binnington or Dan Catenacci play in an Attack uniform again. They are both AHL eligible and will almost certainly play in Chicago and Rochester respectively next year. Surprisingly, the GM of the Attack, Dale DeGray, has said that he doesn't expect Kurtis Gabriel back either. He would have been a terrific OA, however, with the progression in his game over the last year combined with a very strong playoffs, its likely that he'll get drafted and play in the AHL somewhere (much like Andrew Shaw a few years ago). Steven Janes never fit in and will likely be dealt IMO.

Also, you'll notice that Cameron Brace is missing as well. He is a terrific OA option (and would be Owen Sound's "Top Returning Scorer" with 74 pts last year), however, his play in the 2nd half last year was selfish and detrimental to the team on many nights. Combine that with the needs on the blueline due to the Attack's depleted D corp, as well as a general consensus that this will be a building year in Owen Sound, I think the management will consider moving Brace early for some assets (preferably a young Dman). A team like Sudbury would do well acquiring Brace for what looks like a possible playoff run this year.

Last, in spite of having no information as to whether he'll be cleared to play or not, I've still included Jarrod Maidens. I can't imagine he'd be unable to play for 2 straight years. If I'm wrong, the trades of Brace and/or Janes become less likely.

His age combined with being drafted out of the CHL.

A player who is drafted out of the CHL is only eligible to play in the AHL if he has played 4 seasons in the CHL or is over 19 years of age. This rule doesn't apply to players who sign an ATO to play after their CHL season is done (which Wilson did this year).

Correct. The part I bolded is the reason that J.T. Miller was able to play in the AHL last season instead of being required to stay with Plymouth in the OHL. He did not sign his OHL contract with the Whalers until after he was drafted by the NY Rangers in the 1st round of the 2011 draft. This situation is not very common, but does happen occasionally, mostly with players who are still considering the NCAA route, like Miller (he had signed a letter of intent with North Dakota).

Wilson, on the other hand, was under contract with the Whalers when he was selected in the first round of the 2012 draft by Washington. So, he is bound by the restrictions in CharlieGirl's post, just as Rakell, Noesen and Trocheck were last season. He can play in the NHL, but not the AHL until his season is completed in the OHL. Also, if Washington does send Wilson back to Plymouth, they are not allowed to recall him again until after Plymouth's season is complete.

As a side note, this would have been the first season that Tyler Seguin was technically eligible to play in the AHL, had there been some reason that Boston wanted to demote him. Last year, they would have been required to send him back to Plymouth (not a likely scenario, of course).

Here's a quick look at Ottawa's potential roster for this coming season. In my opinion, despite what happened that year, I believe this years 67s team will suprise a lot of people and may even contend for home ice advantage when all is said and done.

Gustavsen,lw,,Monahan,c,,Blandisi,rw
VanStralen,lw,,Konecny,c,,Salituro,rw
Abou-Assaly,lw,,Petaccio,c,,Fielding,rw
Graham,lw,,Dulong,c,,Urbanic,rw ex S.Studicka,rw

I dont see either 94s Bell or Walsh really fitting into ottawa's plans for next season if they truly want to develop some of thier younger forwards. So I could see both players traded away for picks if theres a market for them.

Def
Middelton,,Vlajkov
Guy,,Duschene
Davis,,Desautels ex S.Henley

Windsor
Blair
Potter

When you look at our overall forward depth (assuming Monahan returns) we could have up to at least 6 guys potentially putting up a point-per-game or better. So scoring wont be an issue. Obvously much like last year the biggest area of concern will be the defense, but hopefully with everyone being a full year older, a few of the rookie D from last year can step into much larger roles this year and contribute right off the bat.

The biggest wild card for me is what the 67s plan on doing with the second overall import pick. Ive seen multiple rumors the last couple of months suggesting the 67s were leaning towards taking a young swedish goaltender with that pick. But for me personally, I would prefer they take an elite level forward to compliment the likes of Salituro and Konecny moving forward into this year and next.
