Guess i'm not that suprised given the fact the team kept him around slightly longer than some other players . Kind of strange timing to announce it guess there was still some negotiating to be done since he's a 6th round pick ?

This is a bit surprising, thought they would see how his final year played out. But a strong Traverse/Camp got him the deal done now.

We are also very light on defensive prospects, so in that regard, it was easier to earn a contract.

I do understand this signing though I think he can at the very least be decent AHL depth.
